Will tickets sell out?

Eclipse2012 does have a limited capacity, and while we don’t envisage the festival selling out we advise you to buy your tickets early to avoid possible disappointment.

Getting there:

What are the site opening and closing times?

Gates will open at 12pm on Saturday 10th November. All patrons are asked to leave the site by 12pm Saturday 17 November. Eclipse2012 will notify patrons through the website and Facebook page if there are any changes to these times.

How do I get there?

The site is around three hours north of Cairns in Queensland. Directions to get to the festival will be published on the website closer to the date.

Is there a Bus?

Eclipse2012 will be running busses with limited seating.  Your tickets will need to be pre-booked as there is a massive demand for public transport around Cairns at this time.  To  enquire further please email travel [at] eclipse2012 [dot] com

Onsite:

Where can I camp?

The Eclipse2012 site has a large space for camping for all patrons, complete with toilets, showers and free water. There will also be a quiet area for families with children. We will publish a map of the campsite closer to the event date.

Can I bring a campervan?

Yes. However there are no specific facilities for campervans like powered sites.

Can I bring my own generator?

No, generators are strictly forbidden! No renegade soundsystems either. Please be respectful of your neighbours.

Can I hire accommodation onsite?

No, we do not have accommodation for hire once you are on site. Travel packages, including on site accommodation, are available for booking now.  Click here for details >>

What do I need to bring?

This is a camping event. Bring all the items that will help make your camp comfortable. We recommend that you bring poles, tarps and other infrastructure to create a shaded campsite. There are trees in the camping area but creating your own shade is an important consideration especially in the tropical north of Australia.

Prepare for all sorts of weather. Far north Queensland can be very hot during the day but November is close to the wet season so rain is very possible. Make sure everything in your campsite is tied down as strong winds can hit without notice and cause havoc for any ill-secured campsite.
Free water is available on site but it is recommended that you bring your own supply. There will be plenty of yummy food available for purchase in the market area.

It can also be quite noisy among the campsites, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

Eclipse2012 is a BYO event. You can bring reasonable amounts of your own alcohol to the festival but we encourage responsible drinking. However, glass is strictly forbidden and this will be enforced.
Boots/Cars/Esky will be checked and any glass found will be confiscated, so time to start thinking about what you can buy that you like in cans and kegs. We ask that our patrons please do the right thing and leave the glass at home. In the end, this mostly small inconvenience but will keep our new home safe for bare feet, kids and animals and we think that's more than a fair trade.

What can’t I bring?

There will be a total fireban operating during Eclipse2012. ABSOLUTELY no candles, BBQs, gas stoves or fires permitted at the event. Only gas cookers, which have been professionally installed inside vans or campers are permitted to be used.

If conditions are safe a supervised area for fire-twirling will be made available at specified times, check with info tent or fire safety staff for details. Check for more detailed fire safety information on the website and in the event handbook provided on arrival.

Do NOT bring/do the following:

• No weapons
• No campfires
• No glass
• No amplified sound systems
• No cooking using an open flame
• No generators
• No pets
• No illicit drugs
• No motorised bikes

Can I bring pets?

No animals allowed except guide dogs.

Is there an ATM on site?

NO, so we recommend you stock up on cash prior to arriving at the event.

Is there mobile phone reception?

NO

Can I go swimming?

There will be a designated spot for swimming on site. More information on guidelines and risks will be released closer to the festival.

Are passouts issued?

You can leave the festival at any time over the weekend as your wrist band is your passout. DO NOT lose your wrist band... it’s your best friend.

Please keep in mind that cars may not be driven around the campground during the event and access gates to an area may be closed once the area is full. If you drive away from your campsite during the event, do not expect to be able to drive back to your campground area. If you need to leave during the event, best to leave your car in the general parking area.
