Dormeo Mattress: The Sleep Expert

Dormeo is a British company specializing in producing high-quality, innovative mattresses and beds. In Vienna in 1991, two former designers of the Austrian mattress manufacturer Tempur-Pedic, Andreas Kobler and Leopold Kostal, founded the company.

Dormeo’s ethos was simple: ‘offer customers only the best products available and so they set out to introduce the highest combination of comfort, quality, and price.

Today, Dormeo is known throughout Europe for its high-quality range of mattresses, beds, and bedroom furniture. Their wide best buy selection of products offers different options for every budget and taste.

Dormeo continues to outperform competitors and is currently one of the fastest-growing bedding brands across Europe.

Where Are Dormeo Mattresses Manufactured?

Dormeo mattresses are made in Poland – the location of Europe’s largest mattress factory, specializing in producing high-quality ergonomic products for over 50 years. However, it also makes specialist beds and bedroom furniture too.

The range includes divan beds and settees, such as the new Corner Suite with one end left or right-handed, and even a corner settee available in gold or chrome frame.

Key Features

Dormeo mattresses are made using quality materials such as pocket springs encased in fabric pockets and covered with layers of a soft, breathable wool mix that adapts to the body shape. These layers provide insulation and ensure maximum comfort for sleeping – whatever position you choose.

The removable top layer can be zipped off and washed. This all adds to a comfortable sleeping experience that will last for years and provide you with the best possible night’s sleep.

The Dormeo mattress is made from a combination of natural materials and modern technology. The high-density foam ensures the correct support for your back, while pocket springs work independently to guarantee perfect body alignment.

This disperses the weight evenly across the mattress and provides instant pressure relief. A layer of memory foam between two layers of wool mix and breathable foam encasement, complete with an ultra-thin waterproof membrane at the base, gives you perfect comfort.

Dormeo Layers

Top layer:

This contains a wool mix cover that provides insulation and regulates moisture. It also helps to keep your body temperature stable for sleeping in any climate or room conditions.

Middle layer:

Containing memory foam, this layer adapts to the shape of your body while helping to maintain good blood circulation.

Bottom layer:

This contains multiple layers of high-density foam that support and disperse your weight evenly across the mattress. It also provides pressure relief and comfort, and extra stability for your spine – especially important when you change your sleeping position during the night.

Dormeo Eco cell Core Mattresses

Dormeo also produces an eco cell core mattress that is a hybrid between memory foam and latex models.

The eco cell core is derived from natural resin and contains no chemical additives, so it has a more environmentally friendly structure. Like the Latex model, there are 3 different mattress types that you can choose from; each with its own individual properties:

  1. The Latex model contains natural rubber latex, which conforms closely to your body’s individual contours, reducing pressure and increasing blood circulation. This model is ideal if you sleep on your front or back.
  2. The Memory foam contains memory foam in its top layer, which molds to your individual contours, providing the ultimate sleeping experience for those who prefer to sleep either on their side or back.
  3. The Latex + Memory foam contains both memory foam and latex, which provides great pressure relief as well as extra bounce so you can enjoy a luxurious sleeping experience.

Dormeo S Plus mattress

This is the firmest option in the Dormeo Memory range. The Dormeo Memory Plus contains more memory foam than latex, giving it slightly more pressure relief than the standard model but still with that bounce and luxurious sleeping experience.

It has a unique open cell structure that allows air to circulate freely around your body while you sleep. This reduces heat retention and provides a much cooler sleeping experience.

Price Range

The Dormeo S Plus memory mattress is available in the following sizes: 4ft single (£399), 5ft small double (£469), 6ft medium double (£539), 6ft6 super king-size (£599).

Who will the S Plus mattress suit?

The S Plus is an ideal mattress for anyone who prefers a medium to firm level of comfort. It’s not quite as soft as the standard Dormeo Memory, and therefore it’s perfect if you like a firmer feel but still want that luxury pressure relief and bounce.

What’s the S Plus mattress like to sleep on?

The open cell structure of the S Plus means it’s cooler to sleep on but still offers great pressure relief. It has a firm feel, which is perfect if you prefer a more solid sleeping surface. The medium firmness and memory foam top layer will suit any combination of side sleepers or back sleepers.

S Plus mattress fillings

The S Plus contains memory foam and natural latex filters, both naturally hypoallergenic, so it’s suitable for people with sensitive skin.

This model is also bedbug resistant, dust mite resistant, and has no off-gassing odors from the materials used in its construction.

It has a top layer of memory foam for pressure relief, which molds to your body’s individual contours and reduces heat retention, while below this is an Octaspring base which gives it that extra bounce. Price Range.

The Dormeo Octaspring Memory mattress is available in the following sizes: 4ft single (£399), 5ft small double (£469), 6ft medium double (£539), 6ft6 super king-size (£599). Prices include VAT but not delivery, which varies depending on the region.

Mattress Firmness Guide

The firmness of a mattress can be estimated by the indentation force required to compress the surface of the mattress by 25%.

This is called Indentation Force Deflection (IFD) and indicates how soft or hard a mattress feels. For example, a very soft mattress will have an IFD of approximately 30 pounds per 25% of the width of the mattress.

A very firm mattress will have an IFD of approximately 50 pounds per 25% of the width of the mattress.

Why Choose Dormeo Memory Foam?

Memory foam does not work like other categories of mattresses; it adapts to your body and molds itself around you, relieving pressure points and ensuring an even weight distribution.

This gives you superior comfort and support without the roll-together that you can sometimes feel with softer mattresses. Memory foam also ensures a healthier night’s sleep by improving air circulation and preventing you from overheating.

Will Dormeo Memory Foam Mattresses Help With Back Pain?

The Dormeo memory foam mattresses are designed to provide superior comfort and support, relieving pressure points and ensuring an even weight distribution.

This reduces the strain on your back, neck, and hips. Because of its softness, Memory foam also ensures a healthier sleep by improving air circulation and preventing you from overheating.

Can You Flip A Dormeo Mattress?

A Dormeo memory foam mattress cannot be rotated or flipped. This means that it will need to be turned and rotated by the user every time you change position (i.e., if your head is always at the foot of the bed, then your feet should be at the head).

Some people find this more inconvenient than having a flip or rotating mattress because you will have to lift and rotate the whole mattress to switch positions. However, some people also find this beneficial because it ensures that the wear is even across your memory foam mattress.

Can You Put A Dormeo Memory Foam Mattress On A Slatted Frame Or Divan?

You can place a Dormeo Memory Foam mattress on top of your slatted frame or divan. However, it will not have the same support as if you were using it in combination with a Dormeo foundation box spring.

The memory foam itself is very dense and heavy, so adding this to the slats may cause them to warp over time. It is best to place any memory foam mattress directly on the floor to support it correctly.

Who Are Dormeo Mattresses Good For?

Dormeo Memory Foam mattresses are perfect for anyone who:

  • Wants to relieve pressure points and aches;
  • Is looking for a healthier night’s sleep by improving air circulation and preventing overheating;
  • Is looking for excellent comfort and support without the roll together.
